A Taste of Spring: Culinary Delights and Compassion for Our Furry Friends

On March 16th, 2024, as spring brightened the world with vibrant colors, we gathered at Chef-a-Dias, a private kitchen powered by our products, to celebrate the season and support a cause close to our hearts—helping animals in need. This gathering was filled with creativity, shared laughter, and the joy of giving back.

Guided by my dear friend Chef Filipe, who shares our mission of compassion for animals, we embarked on a culinary adventure together. The afternoon began with everyone teaming up to create a colorful and delicious veggie pie. Fresh vegetables in hand and creativity flowing, participants transformed their pies into works of art. From vibrant flower patterns to playful bunny faces, the kitchen buzzed with excitement as each pie became a unique expression of spring’s spirit.

Once the pies were baking and filling the air with mouthwatering aromas, we turned our attention to two exquisite desserts. Together, we made Mini Pavlovas—delicate meringue nests filled with whipped cream and fresh fruit—and Eggs Chestnut, a traditional Portuguese treat inspired by Ovos Moles de Aveiro.

Each dessert embodied the sweetness and freshness of the season, and the experience of making them as a group added an extra layer of joy.

After all the hard work in the kitchen, we sat down together to savor the fruits of our labor. As we shared the delicious veggie pie and desserts, conversation and laughter flowed freely, creating a warm sense of connection among everyone present. It was a true celebration of spring and community.

The event concluded with a fun surprise—a lucky draw where one lucky guest won a custom digital drawing of their chosen animal, lovingly crafted by Raquel, a talented artist. The lucky draw was a perfect ending to a day that celebrated creativity and compassion.

Most importantly, our collective efforts raised enough funds to provide 80 bags of cat litter to Rafeiros SOS, helping to care for the cats in their shelter.

As we look forward to more gatherings like this, we carry with us the spirit of spring’s generosity. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who joined in this special day of cooking, connection, and giving.
